What is the purpose of the poem? what message, mood or point are you trying to create?
what did you do to create this purpose?
The message I am trying to express is that the Hunger Games was only the beginning of the story, but the Quell Quater is even more challenging and allows special rules to be implemented. Peeta is in large text to signify his significance in the book but especially at the end of the book. All in all the poem is trying to explain the story and the little details that lead up to the end of the book and the purpose.
Discuss your word choice and your decision on the size of particular words in comparison to other words.
I created the purpose by using larger font to emphasis the main events in the book of catching fire. For example I had Quell Quater in a larger font in comparison to the
Hunger Games to show the difference of the two games since the Quell Quater is a special kind of Hunger Games which allows the capitol to call back Peeta and Katniss. I have in smaller font tick tock and coil to represent the minor details in the book that provide the allies with strategies to survive Quell Quater although coil is lager initially to show the significance of the coil that Katniss attaches to her bow an arrow that makes the the force shield explode.

An Inductive Leap too Far
In the novel the Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen a teenage girl who is the provider of her family volunteers as tribute taking her sister place. Katniss enters the Hunger Games with her goal to return to her family and will use her hunting skills to win the game, until her skills are not enough to guaranty victory. She is accompanied by another fellow tribute from district 12 who has had a deep admiration for her and believes that by expressing this he will win sponsors and her heart to. On the other hand Katniss does not see this "acting" game the same way until she takes a inductive leap near the final days of the Hunger Games with her partner Peeta . Katniss decides in order to stay focused on wining this death game she must work together with Peeta and make it appear that she has a relationship with him this is where her inductive leap takes place. In order to receive help that both of them can use, so she shows admiration for him too. In the end Katniss is so determined to win and get out alive that she will go to any means that she did not want to consider before. In conclusion both katniss and Peeta would not have won in the hunger games without Peeta's tactics, and would not have been able to return home.

Suspense or Pathos
Suspense or Pathos
The novel "We all Fall down" written by Eric Walters is about a boy named Will who is with his father at the time the twin towers are hit by aircrafts, both him and his father try and evacuate the southern tower. Moments after his dad hands him a whistle, incase they get separated. Wills father promises that he will come for Will no matter what the circumstances are, all he has to do is blow the whistle. Will and his father along with Ting have made it safely to the lobby when William steps out of the front doors to call his mother suddenly the tower collapses with his father still in it. The quote "He'd told me he'd come if I blew the whistle...he promised..." ( Walters, 194.) demonstrates the author's use of pathos. After the tower collapses Will is frantic to find his father, scared lost and in disbelief he blows on his whistle, at this point in the book I began to cry, I felt so much empathy. I felt empathy due to having this great fear of losing my parents all over again, as I am adopted. I began to feel the emotions for Will as he awaited for his father to turn up out of the rubble for him as he promised.

Point of View
The book that I read called a "A short Place to Land" is told through a third person prespective. I believe that the author Susan White chose to express the tale this way Because the reader can gain a full prespective of all the characters thoughts and emotions within the story. I would not change this prespective of the novel because the reader is able to piece the whole story together and relate to both Julia and Ruthie.

Character Traits
The book that I am currently reading " Secret Daughter" the protagonist is a women by the name of Kavita. She is an Indian women who has given birth to two girl's, her first child was killed by her husband Jasu but Kavita is determined to prevent her second daughter from getting in the wrath of her murderous husband. "Another girl? What is the matter with you? Let me see! He shouts.", "No. I will not. You are not taking her." She hears the shrillness of her voice, feels the tension flood into her limbs "This is my baby our baby and I will not let you take her. " this quote is a prime example of how determined and strong willed Kavita is. She is fearless too as she stands up to her husband, in her culture there can be serious consequences for her actions. Kavita is also depicted as a very caring and concerned mother, in the quote "Who will take care of my baby? This women? Will she love Usha" exemplifies her concern for her daughter before placing her daughter in the orphanage. Reading this novel the reader feels a great deal of pathos for Kavita, throughout this journey that both Usha and Kavita embark in is inspirational. As the story goes on we can gain a sense of Kavita's state of depression through her thoughts "She hears the sound of Usha's desperate cry echoing behind the closed doors of the orphanage. She allows herself to get lost in the depths of her grief." Her hope for her child to receive a better life is evident "She pictures Usha as a little girl, her hair wound in two braids, each tied with a white ribbon. The image in her mind is perfectly clear: smiling, running, and playing with children, eating her meals and sleeping alongside the others in the orphanage."

Tone and Mood - Secret Daughter
Friday February 17
Tone and Mood - Secret Daughter
The opening of the novel "Secret Daughter" prepares the reader for a callus beginning. The book starts off describing the location where the majority of the story takes place "She came to an abandoned hut dusk, without a word to anyone, when she felt the first unmistakable pulls deep with in her. It is vacant, except for the mat she now lies, knees drawn up to her chest" this quotation allowed me to visualize a third world country. This provided a mysterious mood to which the story begins to take place. "She prays that the baby is born before dawn for her husband rarely awakens before sunrise." when Kavita's thoughts are described it creates a somber and tense feeling between the reader and the characters in this scene. " She was not prepared for what happened last time.... When Jasu glimpsed the Writhing body of the baby the girl in Kavita's arms, a shadow crossed his face. He turned away." this effectively reveals the thoughts of both Jasu and Kavita's feelings towards their new born baby. This quotation expresses the seriousness of giving birth to a girl, which was a not good thing in Kavita's situation. From that point on dread begins to evolve as the mood shifts into a liberating feeling that the reader will be able to relate too.
