Fear
...Fear is everywhere, everyone has a fear and Ralph Waldo Emerson acknowledges this through his quote "Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world." The meaning of this quote is there are various events that take place in our lives that we do not have control of. If there is one thing we do have control over it is our will power to defeat obstacles, but many of us use fear as an excuse. Ralph Emerson shines a light on my theme concept, fear. Most individuals who are afraid are continuously held back by their phobias, fear will corrupt our lives when we allow it to prevent us from truly living. Ralph Waldo Emerson was the centre of the transcendental movement, he studied in philosophy, religion, and literature. Ralph Waldo Emerson experienced tragedy of his own, when lost his son who was 5 years old. It was then he began to write darker literature, I believe that is where Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote came from about fear.
