Kelly Clarkson Song Stronger
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone"
Reflection
...The song lyrics reflects the other side of my theme courage. The meaning behind the lyrics is that the challenges we face makes us stronger even though we may not see it. Standing alone keeping your head held high is courage. Even at our lowest points we have the strength within to carry on. L. Baum said "There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid." Courage is doing things you don't want to do, forgetting what other people think. Thomas realized that there was no point in worrying about situations that had not occurred. In the poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" someone blundered but the soldiers continued to charge to fight to the end with confidence regardless of terror that lurked. Courage does not just mean making life or death decisions but sometimes being brave and doing things for others is courage is enough, like in the short story called "Walk Well My Brother" when Charlie Lavery ventures off to find help for him and Konala.
